Campaign calls for basic health services to PLHIVs

Imphal, August 31 2013 :
For effective implementation of basic health services, entitlements and schemes for People Living with HIVs (PLHIVs) in Manipur, a one day demonstration campaign-cum-public meeting was organized and conducted at Thambalkhong Community Hall, Kshetrigao-Imphal East by Woman Action for Development (WAD) and its partner organizations such as Platform for Positive Women, Kshetrigao, Christian Network of Positive Women,Manipur & Survivors' Group( infected and affected) .
The demonstration rally started from Naharup Thong - Kshetrigao, where Farooque Chisti, Pradhan, Kshetrigao-II flag-off the march.
Altogether 450 infected and affected people participated the event.

and Mrs.Sobita Mangsatabam-Secretary WAD addressed the public meeting in which Shilla Begum, Publicity Secretary-PPW and Mrs.Lushi Anal, President - Chandel Network of Positive Women presented their experiences in accessing basic health services and other schemes/benefits (ineffective) .
A memorandum with 6 (six) charters of demand also submitted to Dr.Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India as well as copy to concern ministries and Ministers in connection with the issue.
