Governor accepts ADC Chairman resignation

CCpur, July 31 2018: Governor Dr Najma has yesterday accepted the resignation of Khaipao Haokip, Chairman ADC Churachandpur, exactly three days after he wrote to her about his decision to give up the chair.

Khaipao resigned last Friday without citing any reason.

His resignation came one day ahead of the floor test which was long demanded by his critic who claimed that he no longer commands the backing of the majority.

The Governor's office wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary yesterday informing him about the Governor accepting the resignation of the Chairman, ADC Churachandpur with immediate effect.

Although four days has lapsed following the resignation, neither the Governor nor the Deputy Commissioner has issued any statement before the public on who will look after the functions of the chair or whether an alternate arrangement has been made.
