Imphal, June 30 2015 : Joint Committee of Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) on Tuesday held a protest rally reiterating its demand to withdraw the MRVT&MV Bill 2015 which was passed on March 16.The rally began from Khurai Popular High School at 1 pm.

However, the police intervened and did not allow the rally participants to proceed further.

In a statement, JCILP Convenor in charge K Ratan stated that they have been demanding the withdrawal of the bill.

However, the government had not paid any heed to their demands for which they condemned and asked the 60 MLAs to resign if the government failed to concede to the demands.

The committee also demanded a law to prevent land ownership rights, Pass or Permit ID cards to all non-Manipuri or non-indegenous communities.

The rally was also joined by JCILP Women Wing, JCILP Student Wing and school students of Kanglasha Hr Sec.
