Annual conference of CPI Thanga Karang branch held

The first annual conference of Communist Party of India Thanga Karang branch was held today at Ima Panthoibi community hall.
The conference was attended by Heisnam Momon Meitei; L Sotinkumar, state secretary, CPI MSC; L Thoiren Singh, former deputy secretary, CPI MSC; M Joykumar, state assistant secretary and S Nilkamal as presidium members, said a statement issued by CPI MSC.
L Thoiren, M Joykumar and S Nilkamal spoke on various issues in the state and at the national level, added the statement.
L Sotinkumar said at the conference that CPI has been working for the welfare of the working class and assured that the party will raise the issues faced by the fishing community of the island village to the Government including shortage of drinking water.
A steel bridge connecting the island village to the mainland will also be raised, he added.
