Jiribam police detect double electoral roll

Jiribam, February 28 2018: As part of ongoing mass verification drive of electors in respect of 40- Assembly Constituency Jiribam 2018, four electors ((Kritu Mia son of Akman, Gulerun W/o Akman, Nurkhatun D/o Akman and Masuk Ahmed son of Akman) noted in polling station No 40/26 (Mullargaon) were detected to have enrolled in 13- Lakhipur (Sadharan) Constituency, Assam.

In this regard, the authority concerned has been requested to re-examine the police report and to take prompt action against such mal practice, stated in a press release issued by Superintendent of Police, Jiribam District, M Mubi.

The SP stated that the District police initially detected such dual entries in the electoral roll and had put up a strict surveillance.

The authority concerned has been further requested to pay special attention so as to avoid such irregularities in the electoral roll, it added.
