Five fatalities, 346 new cases reported

Imphal, January 31 2022:
The state on Monday reported 346 fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 1971 samples tested, thus, registering a positiyity rate of 17.55 per cent against 16.43 per cent recorded on Sunday.
Government bulletins also reported five death cases which took the toll to 2046 .
Three of them were residents of Imphal West and one each of Thoubal and Tengnoupal district, two of them had received second dose of vaccine while the remaining three were unvaccinated.
In the last 24 hours, 333 patients were discharged from home isolation (262), RIMS (5), JNIMS (15) and CCCs (51) .
The active caseload rose to 3984 out of which 1327 (33.31 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 223 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 153 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only three did not reported any fresh Covid cases on Monday.
So far, the state has recorded 1,03,856 positive cases and 1672 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 7468 new positive cases and 44 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 2766 and 19 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 346 new cases of infection (170 male & 176 female) are from among general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (11), JNIMS (43) and other testing centres (292) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (83), Imphal West (134), Thoubal (18), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (15), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (14), Tamenglong (23), Tengnoupal (3), Noney (5), Senapati (14), Chandel (9) and Churachandpur (13).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,33,256 (general population -1,28,298 and CAPF personnel - 4,958) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,27,226 (general population - 1,22,453 and CAPF personnel - 4,773) and number of active cases is 3984 (general population - 3806 and CAPF personnel - 178) .
The recovery rate stands 95.47 per cent.
A total of 246 D-type and 96 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 6303 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 14,23,719 out of which 10,47,232 had received the second dose and 27,597 had taken the precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (47,337), Imphal East (29,562), Thoubal (9856), Churachandpur (10,841), Kangpokpi (3042), Tamenglong (3374), Bishnupur (9535), Senapati (2395), Ukhrul (3130), Kakching (6694), Chandel (2616), Noney (1124), Tengnoupal (1161), Jiribam (1107), Kamjong (1017) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (687), Imphal East (490), Thoubal (180), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (64), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (197), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (48), Kakching (117), Chandel (42), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 42,944 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 29,472 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,92,327 tests per million population against the national average of 5,20,185 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1971 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 17.55 per cent while the cumulative positivity rose to 8.72 per cent.
