KSO demands revision of school syllabus, teachers' quarters

In connection with its task of reforming education policy, Kuki Student's Organization (KSO) Chandel has demanded revision of school syllabus and construction of teachers' quarters for ensuring regular attendance.
Briefing the media persons after a joint meeting with village Chiefs and Government run school Head Masters/Head Mistresses held on Monday its KSO office located at H.Kotlenphai Viilage, KSO Chandel President Doumang Haokip appealed the State Government to review the present school syllabus so that it would be more beneficial to the students besides providing free text books in time before the commencement of schools sessions.
KSO also demanded the Government to ensure regular attendance of teachers and resolved to appeal the Government for the construction of teachers' quarters.
On the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, KSO resolved to appeal the authority to provide the same to schools for successfully implementing the scheme.
KSO also appealed the Government to fulfill its demands.
Thangkhomang Haokip, Chairman of Kuki Chiefs' Association Khengjoi Block also pointed out that Chandel District is one of the educationally backward districts in the State.
He warned that from the current 2015 academic session onwards, action will be taken up against those teachers who failed to attend school and those who were not in their place of posting.
