Imphal, January 30 2017:
Manipur Homeguard Employees Welfare Association has decided to suspend its proposed cease work and non cooperation movement.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Y Mangi, president of the association said that the decision is a result of the High Court of Manipur order on January 12 to process the directive given by the Supreme Court on March 11, 2015 to provide the homeguard security employees with the same benefits as those of a Manipur Police Constable.
According to him, the association has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the 2158 homeguard personnel in the State including providing a sum of one lakh rupees to retired personnel and to those who expired during their service terms due to some unfortunate events.
