Stop hunting of migratory birds: WBCC Manipur

Thoubal, October 29 2024: As migratory birds have started arriving to feed in the wetlands of Manipur, the Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Committee (WBCC) Manipur has made a public appeal against hunting them by setting traps, shooting or using pesticides.

As per a press release issued by Ningthoujam Robi, general secretary, WBCC Manipur, the Committee has resolved to intensify its drive held in collaboration with the Forest Department against poachers and those who harm the ecological balance.

It added that the Committee will ensure that appropriate legal action are initiated against the offenders.

WBCC Manipur has also sought the public's support in their endeavour to conserve wildlife and save the environment.
