AR conducts NIT for students to Gujarat

Imphal, December 28 2013 :
A group of 20 students and three teachers from Manipur who are part of a national integration tour (NIT) to Gujarat being conducted by 30 Assam Rifles of 9 sector AR under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (South) since December 20 has visited Junagadh, Somnath Temple and Gir wildlife Sanctuary.
According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), the school children got an opportunity to see the rich culture and historical significance of Junagarh.
The children also visited the Junagadh fort, Somnath Temple, Madhopur beach and Sakkarbaung Zoo, which is the oldest zoo in the country.
Specially visit to sea beach was an unforgettable experience for the students.
The students' next destination was Gir wildlife sanctuary where they saw Asiatic Lions in their natural habitat.
The sanctuary is the only place in the world where we can see these Asiatic Lions.
The students were also taken for a jungle safari and they enjoyed every bit of it.
Students were not only given an insight to the rich culture and heritage but were also taken to Malls, Multiplexes, Pizza Joints and they even watched blockbuster movie 'Dhoom 3', the statement added.
