CCpur medical college session from October

Health & Family Welfare minister Dr S Ranjan Singh has informed that the first academic session of Churachandpur Medical College will start from the month of October this year.
The college will have 100 MBBS seats as approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Minister Ranjan made this statement to the media during an inspection visit to the college at IB Road, Churachandpur on Sunday.
He said that Churachandpur is fortunate to have received the first medical college in hill districts of the state.
The minister also said that his visit is related to arrangement for official inauguration of the college within a short period of time and added that the college can soon be inaugurated as all construction process at almost over.
Stating that the inspection is being carried out at the instruction of chief minister N Biren subsequent to the approval given by the union ministry of health for commencement of academic at the earliest possible, minister Dr Ranjan said as the Churachandpur medical college is a first of its kind institute in the hill district of Manipur due care is being taken to ensure that everything is in place.
He also appealed to the employees to dispense their duty as it is their personal property.
While interacting with the faculty members, Dr Ranjan urged the young doctors and faculties to walk the extra mile until it become a full-fledged college.
"Your dedication and sincere service will make it possible to achieve the aim of establishing the Medical College.
It is through your better service, aspiring medical students will be attracted and get themselves enrolled in the college," he stated.
The minister also inspected different departments and sections of the college and held discussions on status of departments with the in-charges concerned.
Later, the minister visited District Hospital Churachandpur and assessed progress of the work of Ultrasound and X-Ray rooms which are under renovation.
During the visit, Churachandpur MLA LM Khaute stated that having a medical college in Churachandpur District is a good sign of development of the state.
The college brought to this district need to be held in high esteem as the future of the college lies in the sincerity and hard work of faculties and staff, he maintained.
The ministerial team also included additional chief secretary V Vumlunmang, DC Churachandpur Sharath Chandra Arroju, Health Services director Kh Shasheekumar Mangang, Churachandpur Medical College director Dr Soubam Iboyaima and officials from state health department.
According to additional chief secretary Vumlun mang, more equipment will be installed as they on the way while other accommodation facilities are being arranged at different locations in the town areas.
