Imphal, September 27 2022: Kakching police arrested two persons allegedly involved in transporting TNT explosives on July 4, 2022 at Sora, today.

The two persons have been identified as Md Hefzur Rahman (28), s/o (L) Ajijur Rahaman of Moreh Ward no 5 and Md Riyaj Khan @ Uria (28), s/o Hefajuddin of Moreh Ward no 5 and they reportedly transported the explosives.

It is reported that a team of Kakching commandos seized 14 pieces of TNT explosives along with two detonators from Sora area on July 4 last, but the persons who transported the explosives managed to escape under the cover of darkness in an Eeco van bearing Manipur registration number .

Following the seizure of the TNT explosives and detonators, Kakching police conducted a search operation at different locations.

The Eeco van was seized from Moreh.

The Kakching commando arrested Md Hefzur Rahman who absconded following the incident from Lilong Khongban area, today while Md Riyaj Khan surrendered before Kakching police.
