KVK IE opens 'Agri Mobile Clinic'

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Imphal East Directorate of Extension Education, under Central Agriculture University (CAU), opened an Agri Mobile Clinic at Pungdombam Ema Panthoibi Laibung, Imphal East and also carried out a publicity campaign against pests that commonly infect paddy plants.
During the course of the publicity campaign, various samples of paddy plants were collected and instructions on how to protect the plants from diffrent pests was given by Dr H Ramananda.
According to him, for wahik - Buphrofezin 20% + Acephate 50% should be used, for leaf folders (mana konsanbi) - spraying of Fipronil 5% SC (2 ml per ltr), for sheath blight and blast - Hexaconazole 5% EC (2 ml per ltr) and for leaf blight - Copper Hydroxide 53, 8 DF, 3 gm (per ltr) should be used.
Priyadarshini Salam (horticulture), Nandini Chongtham (agri) and program co-ordinator S Monibala also spoke in details and imparted knowledge about the pests and common diseases that infect paddy plants.
They also expressed that the objective behind opening the Agri Mobile Clinic by the KVK Imphal East staff, was to help the farmers overcome the burden of procuring pesticides during this time of lockdown and pandemic.
Farmers of Pungdombam, Sekta and Yourabung of Lamlai AC gave samples of different pests and infected paddy plants which were closely studied by the team and prescribed pesticides accordingly.
The pesticides were sold at a subsidized rate to the farmers.
