Kilonser Stephen Dangmei of the Government of the People's Republic of Nagalim (GRPN/NSCN) has dismissed as baseless and unfounded allegation levelled against him and deputy kilonser Moses Golmei through the media by Manipur police regarding the murder of Ak Nonganba alias Aging.
In a clarification note, Stephen Dangmei said that Aging was known to him since 2009 and there was no personal issue and grudge on any matter and instead were goodfriends.
Stephen further said that he met Ak Aging, son of late Ak Langam (former minister) on February 11 morning after Aging informed about his (Aging) visit to Senapati the previous evening (February 10) .
Aging reached Senapati bazar on February 11 at about 8.30am along with an unknown lady and then proceeded to the residence of Moses Golmei and had lunch together.
After few hours, Aging and the lady were dropped at Senapati bazar and they went towards Imphal in their car (Maruti Swift Dzire) .
However, there was a missed call from Aging's mobile number on February 12 at about 5.30pm.When he made call back, Aging's mother picked up the phone and informed about Aging's demise, Stephen recounted, adding that he informed Aging's mother about her son's visit to Senapati on February 11 and leaving for Imphal after having meal together with an unknown lady.
Meanwhile, Aging's mother Shantibala Devi has sought intervention of NSCN-IM leader in the brutal murder of her son.
In an open letter to NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah, Shantibala said her son was found brutally murdered on February 13 at a place in Kangppokpi district and involvement of NSCN-IM cadres have been established after Manipur police apprehended Moses Golmei (Deputy Kilonser) as the prime accused.
Another cadre of NSCN (IM) namely Stephen Dangmei, who is the co-accused, evaded police arrest and headed for Dimapur.
Till date, the SIT of Manipur police is not able to apprehend Stephen Dangmei and he is most likely to be in Camp Hebron, Shantibala said and urged Th Muivah to issue an order for surrender of the cadres involved in the brutal murder of her son to the law enforcing agencies to face trial under the law of land.
