Mirabai lays foundation for water treatment plan

Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai laid the foundation stone for a water treatment plant at Lamjaotongba, Khamnam Bazar on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, the Congress MLA informed that the water treatment plant is taken up as capacity enhancement project for the existing water supply scheme, whose foundation was laid by ex-MLA of the constituency Nabadwip.
It will deliver water up to western end of Khuraijam Leirak.
Several water supply schemes are being taken up through multiple construction companies and agencies in different parts of the constituency including Langjing, Heinoupok, Changangei and Sangaiprou among others, she said and assured to commission the projects by April 2022.Works for laying pipelines have almost been completed and preparations are being made to inaugurate many of the new water supply schemes within a short period.
She also assured to construct overhead water tanks in left out areas including Taobungkhok to ensure availability of tap water connection to every nook and corner of Patsoi assembly constituency.
There are some issues in Changangei and Patsoi Part 1 areas.
Steps are being taken up to deliver water supply in Patsoi Part 1 from the water supply scheme located at Langjing Achouba hill, she said.
She also emphasised on the role of water supply scheme management committees in timely completion of the pending projects and ensuring early commissioning.
She thanked Water Supply Management Committee chairman Rokoban, PHED executive engineer Sanjit and other engineers for presenting an update on the progress of pending projects and upcoming projects as well to the public.
