Naga Women's Union (NWU) anguishes over fratricides

Imphal, June 25 2012: Appealing to all the Naga armed groups not to inflict any more harm on innocent people, Naga Women's Union (NWU) has observed that 'your mothers, sisters and daughters are in deep anguish over the fratricides occurring at Haochong village and in the town of Tamenglong HQ' .

In a statement issued by its publicity wing, the women's body categorically stated, ''we condemn the acts of crime of killing of your brothers, making your village and town killing fields.

We will not tolerate at all such savage act of crime.

Your mothers, sisters and daughters mourn with bitter cry over the deaths of their children, dear and near ones, whether they be civilians or undergrounds.

You are given birth by your mother; the heart of a month is the same for all children" .

The statement further said, "Our society is doomed now�our families are shaken, our children's education is deeply affected and our socio-economic conditions have become worsen affecting all our total life.

Many women have become widows at very young age,.....Many children have become orphans......If this state of situation continues, there will be no future for your next generations" .
