Assam Rifles 'Changing Lives' in remote village of Tamenglong

44 Assam Rifles under aegis of 22 Sect AR / IGAR (E) has taken up an initiative along with the women society of Dikhuiram village, of the Tamei Sub-division ,Tamenglong, to renovate the office of the women society of Dikhuiram village, which works towards the upliftment of women of the village.
On World Women's Day the representatives of the women society approached the Assam Rifles camp in the village for assistance in renovating the women society office.
A road map has been jointly prepared in a meeting between the women society and the battalion, with a pledge to renovate & revamp the centre as 'Mahila Shakti Kendra' and dedicate it to local populace of Dikhuiram village.
The renovation works shall involve repair of walls, roof, floor, installation of entrance gate, electrification and landscaping of the surrounding area.
The soldiers and the locals have together joined hands to achieve this task.
Once complete, the Mahila Shakti Kendra, will empower rural women through Community participation and create an environment in which they realize their full potential.
The renovated women's society office will help in creating awareness about government schemes, training and capacity building.
