Imphal, October 24 2019:
Lions Club of imphal observed UN Day at Lions Service Centre, Sagaiprou with Lion W Sumitra, president Lions Club of Imphal as the chief guest of the function.
A press release issued by Lions Club of Imphal stated that a debate competition for higher secondary and degree level students was also held on the premise, 'Although the United Nations named October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as International Day of Non-violence population continue to be exposed to violence.

The UN needs restructuring' A total of 11 students participated in the competition.
Cadt N Naoba Meitei of Sainik School Imphal won the first prize with a cash award of Rs 7000 while Cadt K Lalthozuala of Sainik School Imphal secured second prize with a cash award of Rs 5000 and the third prize with Rs 3000 went to Th Reena of DM College of Arts.
Three consolation prizes of Rs 500 each were also awarded.
The team champion was claimed by Sainik School Imphal, it stated.
The Speaker of the debating competition was Dr Ch Sheelaramani, Principal DM College of Arts while members of the Lions Club of Imphal also attended the debate competition.
