MSF mourns Rupachandra's demise

Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) condoled the sudden demise of its former president Dr Chingsubam Rupachandra.
A condolence meeting was held at its Keishamthong Top Leirak head office this evening during which the student body's flag was lowered to half mast in honour of the deceased.
Former office bearers of the student body, advisors, members and representatives of other student organisations attended the condolence meeting.
A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
MSF president Ngariyanbam Milan said that lowering the flag to half mast at the offices of its district committees and branches and holding condolence meeting will continue till 'Shradha' of the deceased is solemnized.
He said that Dr Rupachandra served as the seventh president of the student body from 2007 to 08 and president of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) from 2005 to 06.He was also the Assistant Professor (Political Science) at Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang, Milan added.
He further said that Dr Rupachandra during his stint as the leader of MSF always worked for the welfare of the student community and bringing positive changes in education sector of the State.
He also reminded that Dr Rupachandra while pursuing post doctoral degree at Manipur University published many journals in National and International level besides authoring three books.
His demise is a big loss for MSF and Manipuri society, he said.
As a mark of paying last respects to the death of the leader, MSF in collaboration with Blooming Manipur sprayed water on the flowering plants planted at Khwairamband Ima Keithel.
MSF District Committee Jiribam also expressed deep condolence on the passing of the leader.
