CCpur, January 24 2018:
In connection with the advertisemnet issued by Manipur Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 25 posts for Government college Principals in the Higher Education Department last July, Dr Th Siamkhum, a contender for the post has alleged that the commission has rejected his application despite possessing the requisite experiences and qualifications as per the UGC regulation, on which the recruitment is based upon.
In a four-page letter, he wrote to the Secretary MPSC enclosing the details of the UGC requirements and his corresponding qualifications and claimed that there should be no reason for ruling him out as a candidate.
He also sought to be informed for screening out his application.
The serving Assistant Professor claimed that he fulfills all the required criteria mentioned in the advertisement including evidence of research guidance and publication of journals.
"The evidence of research guidance may have been misinterpreted to mean a candidate must have produced a PhD scholar.
However, as per UGC regulation, according to the 4th amendment 2016, the research guidance is not production of a PhD scholar but the evidence that one is guiding or supervising a scholar", he further claimed.
Unless there is a deliberate attempt to rule him out there is no reason to bar him from facing the interview or from going through the subsequent selection process, he asserted and further called on the commision as well as all stakeholders to ensure that the recruitment process is fair, transparent, and without any discrimination.
