Fire services staff will be recruited soon: O Ibobi

Chief Minister O Ibobi flagged off the Advance Water Tender and Rapid Response Vehicle to the various Fire Sub Stations of the state today at a function held at Fire Service Head Quarter complex today.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that the function and services of the Fire Service will be improved in the state.
The recruitment process of the required staffs of the Fire Service stations has also been discussed to be completed before the election code of conduct comes into force.
He further went on to say that with the increase in population, the number of houses built is also increasing.
With the increase in the number houses, the need to prevent the outbreak of fire has also increased.
The fire service not only saves from sudden outbreak of fire but also plays a big role in saving the lives of people from fire accidents and prevents serious damage to properties.
Necessary funds for the procurement of all the required equipments of the Fire Service department have made under the Special Plan Assistance (SPA).
The Advance Water Tender and Rapid Response Vehicle which have been flagged off today to various Fire Sub Stations will be requiring a number of staffs to run it.
The require number of staff will be decided soon, so that they can be recruited before the election code of conduct comes into force, he said.
He further said that since there are hardly any water bodies in the hills, water tender is much more required there.
At the same time there is also the need to dig up at least one or two big ponds near each sub station.
The Chief Minister also praised the Fire service personnel for their tireless services rendered for the welfare and safety of the general public and their properties.
Speaking on the occasion, N Noren, Director Fire Services said that at present there are 16 fire sub stations in the state.
The newly inducted Advance Water Tender and Rapid Response Vehicle which contains sophisticated machines are made in Germany.
These machines are of the most advance technologies used by the other developed nations.
The function was also attended by Dr Kh Loken, Chairman, PDA as the President.
As a part of the function the fire service personnel also demonstrated the use of the newly arrived Advance Water Tender and Rapid Response Vehicle.
