'Paari Poori Pookkei' set to attract tourists

In a unique style to attract tourists to visit Manipur, Paari Poori Pookkei Trust has come up with the idea of setting up a tourist spot under the name "Paari Poori Pookkei" at Paokhul Chingol (Telou) under Imphal East district.
The tourist spot which is currently under construction is located about 21 kms from Imphal along Imphal-Ukhrul road after passing Nongada Thongkhong and Chana Tellou.
A team of media persons visited the "Paari Poori Pookkei" tourist spot today to take first hand report on the ongoing construction works and also met members of the Trust.
Interacting with the media team on the present position and future prospect of the proposed tourist spot, Spokesperson of the Trust Leitam Ingocha explained that the primary objective of establishing the unique tourist spot is to keep intact all the historical facets of all the different communities settling in the State.
The tourist spot which would spread over an area of around 50 acres of land would have around 108 different types of indigenous flowers for which a nursery has been made.
Another nursery having around 80 different types of fruits available in the State has also been prepared.
The tourist spot would also house replica of Kangla, Loktak Lake, Ningthem Pukhri, Thong Nambonbi (the hump bridge), Koubru Hill, Siroi Hill and Thangapat, etc, Ingocha disclosed.
He further stated that since the construction of the tourist spot would involve huge investment, the Trust is considering seeking of financial assistance from the State and Central Government.
And since the completion of the entire construction work on the tourist spot would take some time, the inauguration would be done mid way on the occasion of Mera Purnima.
