Five new cases detected, four discharged

Imphal, April 23 2022:
A day after reporting no new Covid-19 positive cases, the state on Saturday recorded five fresh infections out of 311 samples tested, thus, registering 1.61 per cent positivity rate.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed the lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received the second dose of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, four patients were discharged from home isolation.
Number of active cases rose to 27 out of which 7 (25.93 per cent) are in home isolation.
So far, the state has recorded 11,422 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 116 new positive cases and zero fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 20 and zero respectively.
According to official reports, all the five fresh cases (1 male & 4 female) are from among the general population and they are from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (2), Bishnupur (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,210 (general population -1,32,196 and CAPE personnel - 5,014).Number of recovered cases is 1,35,063 (general population - 1,30,056 and CAPE personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 27 (general population) .
The recovery rate is 98.44 per cent.
A total of 156 D-type and 9 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 3039 vaccine doses administered in the same time span taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,53,373, including 11,97,578 who have received second dose and 75,937 precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48745), Imphal East (30443), Thoubal (10159), Churachandpur (11054), Kangpokpi(3132), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9839), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3275), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2725), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,219 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,656 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,18,294 tests per million population against the national average of 5,94,024 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent while cumulative positivity rate is at 8.53 per cent.
