Imphal, December 21 2017:
Pointing out that the Government of India has not ever harmed the interest of other communities while working out a solution to any issue of a particular community, NPF MLA Awangbow Newmai has exuded that the Government of India would not come up with any solution to the Naga issue which would not be acceptable to other communities .
He made this statement at the State Assembly today while discussing a short duration motion on the Framework Agreement .
The peace talk has been going on for the past 20 years and the Government of India and NSCN-IM have agreed to work out a solution.
But it is the exploration for an amicable solution which is taking time, Awangbow said .
After years of struggle and suffering, Naga people have been waiting for the good time.
Yet people have certain apprehensions, he noted .
The State Assembly, every time it holds its session, creates apprehension among the masses about the political dialogue .
"The issue has been keeping the people on tenterhooks but I'm fully confident that the Prime Minister is conscious of the rights of every one of us", Awangbow said .
Saying that any solution to the Naga issue would not be unacceptable to other communities, he called upon every one to put faith in the Prime Minister and the Government of India, and ease tension .
Any solution to the Naga issue would be in the best interest of anyone, he added .
Meanwhile, the Naga People's Front (NPF) Manipur State Unit has reiterated that the party continues to stand by its constitution to uphold the demand for Naga integration and early solution of the Indo-Naga peace talks under the Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015.A joint press release issued by the president of NPF Manipur State Unit, W Morung Makunga and the party's general secretary (Administration) Honreikhui Kashung, further conveyed that any of the party members who work against the constitution of the party and its commitment as highlighted in the 2017 election manifesto, will be considered as anti-party and anti-Naga.
