Bishnupur, July 21 2024: The valedictory function of 2nd Festival of Holi was held at Ningthempokpa Mandop near Moirang College gate today.

The festival of Holi was held with an aim to revive the legacy of Holi Sankirtan among the youths of today and to promote this artform.

Shri Shri Govindajee Thougal Nupi Holi Dal, Moirang College Gate Moirang organised the festival under the sponsorship of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.

The valedictory function was graced by Mairembam Uttamkumar Singh, PA of Moirang AC MLA; Meikam Shyam Singh social worker; Mairembam Ibempishak Devi Chairman Shri Shri Govindajee Thougal Nupi Holi Dal and Contractor A Somen as the presidium members.

During the festival, Guru M Maniton; Sankirtan artiste S Indu and M Ranjana imparted education to the attendees on Holi Sankirtan.

As a part of the programme, artistes of Holi Dal presented demonstrations on Holi Pala, Dhol Cholom, Nupi Pala and Basak Sheishak.
