Committee working to ensure fertiliser to farmers

Imphal, July 21 2022: Tairenpokpi Committee has informed that it is trying to distribute fertilisers to every farmer in Tairenpokpi area.

In a release, the committee said that it is unfortunate that some people politicised and issued statement in local dailies claiming that the fertilisers are not provided to those who did not vote for them.

While refuting the statement, the committee denounced bringing in politics when it is trying to distribute fertilisers to the farmers in a fair manner.

Pointing out that Manipur is one of the largest farming areas in the northeast region and everyone is aware of urea crisis, it continued that most of the people of Tairenpokpi are also farmers and every household has around 2-3 'paris' of agricultural land.

The distribution of urea in the first and second phase could not suffice the needs of farmers of Tairenpokpi.

However, the committee is planning to ensure that every farmer avail adequate urea in the third phase.

The initiative being taken up by the committee is well known by people of Tairenpokpi, the release said, while urging not to take undue political advantage and make baseless claims.
