The underground group Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast that took place at the office of Naga People's Front (NPF) in Kamjong in Ukhrul district Wednesday night.
A MNPF statement signed by its assistant publicity secretary Thomas Numai also clarified that the triggering of the bomb was not aim at inflicting casualties to civilians in the electioneering for the coming Autonomous District Council (ADC) polls.
The statement alleged that the NPF in cahoots with NSCN (IM) has been deceitfully raising Naga issues and causing disturbances to various developmental works in the State.
"Not only this, the NPF has also been interfering with every election held in the State and committing various crimes and causing a fear psychosis among the Naga people," MNPF said.
MNPF said that in the past, the NSCN (IM) would boycott every election conducted by the Government of India by claiming that the Nagas were not Indians.
But ever since the signing of the ceasefire agreement, the NSCN (IM) has been using force against all political parties with the exception of the parties and candidates it endorses during elections, it added.
MNPF further stated that failure of giving punishment to even a single individual involved in torturing and murdering of people and capturing of polling booths during election has clearly indicated that the Indian security agencies are supporting and instigating such individuals to carry out acts of violence.
"NPF and NSCN (IM) are two sides of the same coin.
NPF and NSCN (IM) are not liked by the people of Manipur Nagas and hence they are taking helps from the Indian security forces who are taking their side," it said.
