Imphal, March 21 2018: Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK) celebrated its 26th foundation day at Manipur Press Club today with Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women, DrK Sobita; CLK president Ch Pakpi Chanu and International awardee H Ibotombi Khuman attending the occasion as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Sobita said that CLK was founded on March 21, 1993 and since then the organisation has been working for the integrity and unity amongst the different communities of the State.

She highlighted the pivotal role being played by Manipuri women since time immemorial for the betterment of the society.

Expressing grave concern over the rampant violence and crime against women and children in the State, she called upon the people especially women to come forward and curb the menace together.

CLK secretary general Heikham Eurika Chanu gave key note address at the occasion.
