Union ministers line to visit state ahead of polls

Imphal, September 20 2021:
With the Manipur Legislative Assembly election due to be held in early part of 2022, several BJP Union Ministers are making preparations to pay a visit to the state in the coming days.
Among them, Union State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ashwini Kumar Choubey will be arriving in Imphal on Tuesday.
Previously, BJP election in-charge union minister Bhupendra Yadav and his group had visited the state with regard to the upcoming polls, along with Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik, Assam minister Ashok Singhal, and Abhay Giri.
Following their departure, Ashwini Kumar will visit the state on Tuesday to discuss various programmes to be taken up including poll-related activities.
During Bhupendra Yadav's stay in the state, preparations were made for the polls including selection of potential candidates, strengthening of the party and other matters.
The visit of various BJP union minister to the state, prior to announcement of the election schedule, for informing the masses about the various development projects undertaken by different ministries was also specifically included as part of the preparations.
After Ashwini Kumar's visit, several more union ministers Will be arriving as well, one of the leaders of the state BJP conveyed to this daily.
According to sources, Ashwini Kumar will visit Loktak Lake and a meeting with the state officials of Forest and Environment, LDA, MPCB and CAF & PD at Sendra.
Afterwards, he would visit Keibul Lamjao National Park, following which he will distribute PMGJKY and NFSA items to the deserving beneficiaries at Kumam Mandap, located near NIA Moirang.
He will return to Imphal and meet the Governor and the chief minister to talk about the various issues plaguing the state.
At 7pm, he is scheduled will hold another meeting with retired officers of the Forest Department, followed by meetings with representatives of various state organisations.
On September 22, Ashwini Kumar will pay a visit to Kangla and Govindajee Temple at around 7.30 am, after which he will leave for Kolkata, sources conveyed.
