Nungba Churches welcome Naga Peace Accord

Luangba (Nungba) area Churches on Monday took out a peace rally at Rongdai Baptist Church (Nungba Hqs) to commemorate and celebrate the recently signed peace accord between NSCN (IM) and Government of India (GoI).
The supporters observed the day as a Thanksgiving Day.
A joint statement issued by Organizing Committee Chairman Pastor Rongdai Baptist Church Angam Gangmei and Assistant Pastor Lwangba Baptist Church Gaiphurei Panmei said the public declared their support to the noble cause of the "Naga Nation" and pledged to work with renewed vigour for attaining a vibrant Naga society in the future.
The programme was concluded with a mass prayer for the smooth sail of the "frame work agreement" between NSCN (IM) and the Centre.
Other prayer points included logical conclusion; unity among Naga people and political groups etc.
The peace march was attended by pastors; deacons; catechists; village authority chairmen; members; public leaders of the Nungba area consisting about 20 villages and further they decided to carry out peace rallies in every nook and corners of "Nagalim" in the Zeliangrong region.
