Ithong Phatpa, Ukrong Hongba rituals conducted

Imphal, July 20 2022: Utra Shanglen, Sana Konung conducted the religious rituals of Kangla Ithong Phatpa and Kangla Ukrong Hongba (Pakhangba Meerel Urong Hongba) at Sanathong Chithek Leimarel Loktak Maru which is located inside Kangla here on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by Utra Shanglen, Sana Konung publicity secretary Poirei Khuman, performance of the religious rituals of Kangla Ithong Phatpa dates back to the reign of Nongda Lairel Pakhangba and it is a ritual to cleanse the sacred Kangla of all the activities carried out there in the past year.

On the other hand, Pakhangba Meerel Urokng Hongba is a ritual conducted for prosperity of the land and it dates back to the reign of Chothe Thangwai Pakhangba.

After midnight on Wednesday, Utra Shanglen will perform Pakhangba Meekol Changba ritual at Kangla Paonam Hiden.
