Imphal, May 20 2021: Following a direction from the Supreme Court, the State Government has constituted a 7-member Audit Sub-Group on Medical Oxygen, a committee under the National Task Force to oversee medical oxygen transactions and distribution networks.

The members of the committee include officials nominated by the Centre and State medical practitioners.

The committee will determine whether the medical oxygen supplies allocated by the Union Government reach the State.

It will also look into the efficacy of the distribution networks in supplying oxygen meant for hospitals, healthcare institutions and others.

It will monitor availability of the stock and ensure transparency in distribution of the supplies.

The committee will also ensure accountability with regard to utilization of the supplies allocated to the State.
