Imphal, January 20 2019: As part of SAKSHAM-2019, which is being held under the aegis of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), State Level Coordinator (SLC), a SAKSHAM-Cycle Day was organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) today.

The event which was organised under the themes SAKSHAM-Cycle Day, Cycle for Health and Environment Conservation, at Hotel Imphal by Classic, was attended by CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam, Commissioner (Transport) M Lakshmikumar, Imphal West SP H Jogeshchandra, Imphal East SP K Meghachandra, former Manipur University VC Prof H Tombi, first Olympian of Manipur P Nilakamal, State Head NE, BPCL, Piyus Gupta as the presidium members.

Speaking at the event, Piyus Gupta Stressed on the need for conserving petroleum products and judicious usage, he said that small change in lifestyles like opting to walk, cycling and using public transportation will greatly help in the effort to conserve petroleum products.

Later, the Minister flagged off a cycle rally from Hotel Imphal by Classic by leading from the front on a cycle himself.
