Ccpur, September 19 2018:
A dead body of a man identified as Bahadur Bauri (38), a resident of Didar Kush village under Kachudaram in Assam's Cachar hills has been lying unclaimed for the past two days at District Hospital Mortuary, Churachandpur with an impending autopsy, report our correspondent.
Police sources said that the body was picked up from Old Gelmol village in Churachandpur after one Jangpao Haokip reported to the police that on the night of September 16, Bahadur Bauri was seeking shelter for a night but he was found dead in the bed on September 17 at around 8.30 am.
Jangpao Haokip further claimed that the guest was unknown to him but he agreed to take him for the night on the request of a man known to him.
He and his family got suspicious when Bauri did not get up even by 8.30 am on September 17 and they found him dead when they entered the room.
The investigating officer said that the body will be disposed off if no one came forward to claim the body by tomorrow while adding that the local police had already been informed the concerned Police Station in Assam about the dead body.
Preliminary investigating suggests that personal ailment may be the cause of death as no injury marks was found on the body, said police.
