Kangpokpi, December 18 2016: With the decades old demand of districthood achieved on November 8 midnight and the official inauguration of Kangpokpi district held on December 15, the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills today on behalf of the people of Kangpokpi district paid its highest honour and salute to the martyrs of Sadar Hills and appreciated the mass participation of the people in the movement.

Recalling the decades old struggle for district status, the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills hailed the bold decision of the Congress Government for finally according district status on Kangpokpi.

General secretary of Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills N Sehjalien Gangte conveyed the Inpi's sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, Dy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and the Cabinet Ministers in the Congress Government for fulfilling the long cherished dream of the people.

KISH particularly appreciate the three MLAs of Kangpokpi district, namely, IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip, MLA Saitu AC; Yamthong Haokip, MLA Saikul AC and Nemcha Kipgen, MLA Kangpokpi AC for their tireless and sensible struggle for district status.
