Chiulon, Irang in Somalia

The two satellite radio transmitters tagged Amur Falcons, Chiulon and Irang reached Somalia, said Union Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar.
In a Facebook post, the Minister said Chiulon and Irang spent about 20 days in Manipur and adjoining places before leaving for Somalia on November 11 and 12 respectively.
The two birds flew nonstop for 5 days to reach Somalia.
Chiulon had covered at least 5700 kilometres while Irang covered about 5400 kilometres to reach Somalia, said the Minister.
Meanwhile, Asma Heptulla, daughter of Governor Najma Heptulla has reached Chiulon village today to watch the migratory birds (Amur Falcons).
She will visit the roosting site of the birds in the village tomorrow morning.
