Soso Shaiza visits Chandel for assessment

Chandel, October 18 2019: National Commission for Women, India represented by its member Soso Shaiza visited Chandel district today for assessment of women related development schemes in aspirational Chandel district, said press note released by DC Chandel.

It further said that various women related development programmes/schemes including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, One Stop Centre (Sakhi) recently set up in Chandel, Swadhar Greh Scheme, Ujjwala, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were highlighted in the assessment meeting.

Matters on opening of working women hostel, opening of Creche centre for working women, making widow pension scheme eligible to young widows who are less than 40 years, opening of two more Kastuba Gandhi Balika Vidya (KGBV) residential schools etc, were brought up in the meeting, the press note maintained.

The assessment programme organized by District Administration Chandel at Conference hall, DC office, Chandel was attended by Dr Binota Meinam, Chairperson Manipur State Commission for Women; Krishna Kumar, DC Chandel; N Madhunimai Singh, SP Chandel; Bantee Konthoujam, Jt Director Social Welfare Dept; DLOs of Chandel and NGOs.
