Imphal, July 17 2015 :
BJP Manipur Pradesh believes that calling All-Political Party meetings will not be a solution to the burning issue of ILP in Manipur and hence the party decided to skip the meeting, said party President Th Chaoba on Friday.
During a press meet held at BJP's office ,Nityaipat Chuthek, State BJP President Chaoba stated, "Forming All-Political Party Committee on Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) is a mere eye-wash to calm down the public.
In actuality, the Government has been acting according to its wishes.
The agitation has now been intensified beyond control with death and injuries caused to protesters taking place.
BJP will not attend any such meetings" .
On Thursday, the BJP and Manipur People's Party (MPP) did not attend the All-political Party meeting at the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
The meeting recommended passing of a new ILP bill in one month's time.
Chaoba further stated, "It's been almost ten days that Robinhood had died in police action during ILP protest.
His body is yet to be claimed by the family.
It is very unfortunate for the Manipur Government to show lack of concern over the matter, which may further fuel public unrest" .
BJP Manipur announced that it has formed a five-member committee to draft a feasible ILP Bill to submit it to the State Government to get it passed in the Assembly.
Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh greeted all people of Manipur, especially the Meetei-Pangal community, on the occasion of Id-ul Fitr and wished them peace, happiness and prosperity.
BJP Minority Cell President Nasir Husain also sent out his greetings to the Muslim people of the State on the auspicious occasion.
He appealed all organisations, committees and protesters not to call general strikes and blockades during this festival to be held on Saturday (July 18) .
