No bonus for 2015 Ningol Chakkouba

Imphal, October 16 2015 : There is no clear cut policy of the Manipur Government to pay bonuses to its employees in connection with festive events celebrated by different communities.

Payment of bonus for festivals is now a dropped policy of the State Government, a source in the Finance Department said on Friday.

The Government cancelled the policy five years ago, it said.

Government employees are not likely to get it this Ningol Chakkouba, the biggest festival of Manipur and others.

It is speculated that the Government's plan is in view of the ailing financial condition of the State, the source explained.

However, the Government usually gives advance pay to its employees if any festival occurs after date 20 of the particular month.

If the festival occurs before date 20, then advance pay is not given.
