AMSU to seek donation for 49th Hunger Marchers' Day

In order to make the observance of 49th Hunger Marchers Day which falls on August 27 a grand success one, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) will be seeking donation from the general public.
Addressing a press meet in this connection at the office of the union's headquarter located inside the DM College campus here, L Reagan, secretary general of AMSU, said that all necessary arrangements have been made for observing the 49th Hunger Marchers Day and appealed to the security forces not to cause any disturbances to volunteers of the students' body while going around to seek donation from the public.
He stated that that new receipt with counter foil will be used for accepting donation for this year and appealed to the public to inform the union immediately if donation is sought with receipt without counter foil.
Informing that the receipt will have signatures of the union's president, general secretary and finance secretary and letter head signed by finance secretary only, he elaborated that the observance will be marked by offering of floral tributes at Chingamacha memorial site to be followed by a rally starting from the site.
The rally after passing several places will be ended at DM College campus where the main observance function will be held, he added.
He also appealed to all concerned to maintain cleanliness of the sacred Chingamacha memorial site.
Soibam Anil, finance secretary of AMSU was also present during the meet.
