Handloom & Handicraft Exhibition begins

Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman Autonomous District Council Sadar Hills today inaugurated a two day-long Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition cum Cultural Meet for Peace and Harmony at Kangpokpi Community Hall.
The Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition cum Cultural Meet for Peace and Harmony is being organised by Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi with support and help from NGOs, Directorate Commerce and Industry, Art and Cultural, Govt.of Manipur.
Apart from Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills, who was the Chief Guest, the inaugural function of the exhibition was attended by DK.

Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi and Chonkam Kipgen, Chairman of Kanggui Town Committee as Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively.
All Executive Members, Member of ADC Sadar Hills and some District Level Officers, besides leaders of local civil bodies were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Haokholal Hangshing observed that the Handloom and Handicraft Exhibition cum Cultural Meet was something that the ADC has been wanting to organise so that talented people in the field of art, culture, handloom or handicraft can display their skills, thus giving them opportunity to earn their livelihood through their gifted talent.
"This is the first time that Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi has organised this type of exhibition and meet.
It is a humble start to encourage those interested in the works of arts, handicrafts, handloom, etc", Hangshing said, adding that with the cooperation of general public, NGOs and the state Govt.the ADC would be we will be able to organise better, bigger and more attractive exhibition the next time.

Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi DK.Thangboi appealed to everyone to bring out their best products to attract customers not only from local areas but also from other parts of NE region and the country.
In all 25 stalls are opening in the exhibition with Dorothy Dry flower production from Bongbal Khullen and Flower Making, Integrated Rural Management Association(IRMA),Saikul being the most visited stall of the day.
Maram Arts and Literature Association of T.Khullen is also being visited by many people.
The organiser of the exhibition and cultural meet has informed that a big cultural meet will held tomorrow at Thomas Ground, Kanggui.
