State's caseload crosses 1000-mark; two die

Imphal, January 15 2022:
The state on Saturday reported 158 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2215 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 7,13 per cent, a slight increase from Friday's 7.06 per cent.
Saturday also reported two death cases which took the fatality toll to 2014 .
One of them had received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine and the other was unvaccinated.
They were residents of Imphal West and Kangpokpi district respectively.
With the discharge of 37 patients from home isolation (18), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (16) in the last 24 hours, the active caseload rose to 1063 out of which 312 (29.35 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, 12 reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 97,579 positive cases and 1640 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1191 new positive cases and 12 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and fatalities have also risen to 891 and 4 respectively.
According to.official reports, 155 people (87 male & 68 female) out of the 158 fresh cases are from among the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (16) and other testing centres (139) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (38), Imphal West (49), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (4), Kangpokpi (3), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (5) and Churachandpur (39).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,26,979 (general population - 1,22,338 and CAPF personnel - 4,641) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,902 (general population - 1,19,461 and CAPF personnel - 4,441) and number of active cases is 1063 (general population - 868 and CAPF personnel -195) .
The recovery rate came down to 97.58 per cent.
A total of 418 D-type and 104 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, only 3837 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,58,792 out of which 10,17,727 had received the second dose and 5193 had taken the precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,552), Imphal East (28,184), Thoubal (9555), Churachandpur (10,378), Kangpokpi (2808), Tamenglong (3289), Bishnupur (9279), Senapati (2286), Ukhrul (3033), Kakching (6481), Chandel (2444), Noney (1097), Tengnoupal (1087), Jiribam (1049), Kamjong (993) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (676), Imphal East (482), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (64), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (195), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (45), Kakching (116), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,921 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 26,307 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,80,120 tests per million population against the national average of 5,00,213 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2215 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 7.13 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.52 per cent.
