Kangpokpi, December 13 2024: The 25th Silver Jubilee celebration of Kholjang Youth Club proved to be an uplifting event, with Commerce and Industries minister Nemcha Kipgen exhorting the Kuki-Zo youth to take on the role of catalysts for progress.

Held under the theme, "Go in this Might of Yours" from Judges 6:14, the event resonated with the spirit of empowerment, unity, and hope for the future.

The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of a commemorative monolith, erected by the youth of Kholjang to honour the club's 25 years of serving the youth.

Addressing the gathering, Nemcha Kipgen emphasised the pivotal role of youth in shaping society and driving change.

She underscored the transformative power of education, urging the younger generation to seize opportunities and become agents of progress.

"The youth are the torchbearers of society, the architects of a better tomorrow," Kipgen stated.

"Education is the foundation upon which dreams are built, and through education, our youth can lead their communities toward progress, peace, and prosperity".

She also highlighted the unique challenges faced by the yputh in contemporary society, including unemployment and social disparity, and called them to embrace their potential with courage and determination.

She reiterated that the theme pf the event serves as a call for young individuals to recognise their inherent strength and purpose, much like Gideon in the biblical passage.

The minister emphasised how the active involvement of young people in education, entrepreneurship, and community service can catalyse meaningful change.

She encouraged the youth to embody values of leadership, innovation, and integrity while fostering a collective vision for societal upliftment.

The event featured cultural performances, speeches, and testimonials from community leaders and dignitaries, all echoing the theme of empowerment and renewal.

The Kholjang Youth Club has been instrumental in fostering social cohesion, educational initiatives, and community development, making the silver jubilee a significant milestone in its journey.
