AR organises medical camp, scores of other initiatives

The Assam Rifles has conducted various people centric events such as medical camps, lectures on women and child welfare, cleanliness & sanitation drive, tree plantation drive and skill development classes on automobile and electrical repairs at Khengjoi division, Chandel district from October 7 to October 11 .
These initiatives were aimed at addressing various economic, healthcare and environmental issues while promoting skill development and welfare to the local population, said PRO IGAR (South) in a statement.
The initiatives have benefited around 600 people.
"Through these efforts, the Assam Rifles continues to play a pivotal role in the holistic development of Khengjoi sub-division, fostering a sense of community, well-being and sustainability," it said.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp for the residents of Lilong and Thoubal on October 12 aiming to provide essential healthcare services.
144 civilians and ex-serviceman benefited from the health camp.
The medical camp was supervised by 2 specialist doctors, a gynecologist and a surgeon.
The local leaders, village heads and the Meira Paibis of the locality expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organising the camp.
