Six projects under PM-DevINE in state

Imphal, December 11 2024:
Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Dr Sukanta Majumdar, in his reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Wednesday, informed that six projects are being implemented in Manipur under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.
The PM-DevINE scheme was announced as a new central sector scheme, with 100 per cent central funding in the Union Budget 2022-23 with initial outlay of Rs 1500 crore.
The union cabinet on October 12, 2022 approved the scheme with a total outlay of Rs 6600 crore for the period from FY 2022-23 to FY 2025-2026 .
In all, 35 projects worth Rs 4857.11 crore have been sanctioned under the scheme up to November 30, 2024 .
Out of the 35 projects, six are being taken up in Manipur including Development of Infrastructure for Manipur Technical University (MTU), Imphal West district; Development of Infrastructure of the Processing Zone of Manipur IT SEZ at Mantripukhri; Construction and Equipping of 60-Bedded State Mental Hospital in Manipur; Infrastructure Development for Dhanamanjuri University (DMU); Infrastructure development for Manipur University of Culture at Wakha, Imphal East; and Providing super speciality and assured specialty health care in remote and hill districts (Infrastructure & Equipment) in Manipur.
