Meet dissects developmental works in Tamei, Tousem

Imphal, December 11 2013: A yearly meeting of Tamei Block Congress Committee workers under Tamei Kendra in Tamenglong district was held today at the residential quarter of 52-Tamei MLA, Z Kikhonbou Newmai at Lamphel and discussed various developmental programmes taken up in Tamei Kendra and other parts of the district.

The meeting was also attended by Executive Member of ADC Tamenglong AB Ramwangdin and MP Guang and Member Hatking , Z Savihi and Tadinnang.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Kikhonbou Newmai stated that the meeting was held mainly to discuss benefits avail under various flagship programmes including PDS initiated by the Central Government especially for the people of Tamei Kendra.

He said the Congress government in the State has been taking up many developmental works and projects in Tamenglong district and informed that works have been going on in full swing for the construction of BDO office, banks and police outposts in Tamei and Tousem sub-division.

Kikhonbou further said adequate electricity facility has been provided to 20 villages in Tousem and other 15 villages in Tamei.

Maintaining that five junior high schools under Tamei Kendra have been upgraded up to high school level and other six primary schools to upper primary level, the MLA said that one Sub-Primary Health Centre each has also been constructed at Foklong and Wilong village.
