State records two deaths, 24 cases

Imphal, December 10 2021:
After three consecutive days of reporting zero deaths, the state on Friday reported two fatalities and 24 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1429 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was 1.68 per cent, marginally lower than Thursday's 1.71 per cent.
The two death cases took the total number of fatalities to 1987.One was from Imphal West and the other from Bishnupur district.
Both were unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 344 out of which 61 (17.73 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only three reported fresh Covid cases on Friday with Imphal West seeing highest cases at 12.So far, the state has recorded 96,078 positive cases and 1613 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 273 new positive cases and 10 fatalities during the current month out of which 181 new cases and 7 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 24 new positive cases (10 male & 14 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (19).The positive cases are from Imphal East (10), Imphal West (12) and Ka-kching (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 17 patients were discharged from home isolation (5), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (9).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,478 (general population - 1,21,045 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,147 (general population - 1,18,724 and CAPF personnel - 4,423) and number of active cases is 344 (general population - 339 and CAPF personnel - 5).The recovery rate is 98.14 per cent.
A total of 621 D-type and 127 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 6907 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,97,996 which include 9,23,188 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,004), Imphal East (27,864), Thoubal (9483), Churachandpur (10,189), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9224), Senapati (2248), Ukhrul (2997), Kakching (6444), Chandel (2361), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (665), Imphal East (476), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,438 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,777 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,62,173 tests per million population against the national average of 4,66,847 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1429 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.68 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.75 per cent.
