AR leads "Clean Lilong, Clean Manipur" campaign

Imphal, November 10 2024: The Assam Rifles has successfully spearheaded a social service camp as part of the "Clean Lilong, Clean Manipur" initiative running from September 30 to November 10 .

This campaign, led by the Lilong United Club - a coalition of 54 youth clubs - saw the active participation of 300 civilians alongside a large number of Assam Rifles personnel, said IGAR (South) in a statement.

During the campaign, the Assam Rifles provided essential sanitation supplies to address the community's cleanliness needs.

Assam Rifles officials emphasised the importance of maintaining a clean environment and highlighted the collective effort required to combat drug abuse and extortion in the region.

In addition to the cleanliness drive, discussions were held on pre-recruitment training programmes aimed at supporting local youth interested in joining the armed forces, said AR.

Officials of the Lilong United Club, expressed their gratitude for Assam Rifles' support in the initiative and pledged to continue tackling social issues in collaboration with the organisation.

The "Clean Lilong, Clean Manipur" campaign not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also fostered community spirit and cooperation among local residents, added the AR .
