Kakching, October 10 2019: A one day discussion on "Manipur Merger Agreement amasung Manipuri Phurupki Oirakliba Saktam" was held at Langmeidong Dramatic Union Hall, Langmeidong, Kakching district today.

Thoubal District United Women's Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima) and United People's Administrative Council (UPACO) Manipur organised the event.

Thoubal Ima vice president Khumukcham Ongbi Memma Leima, Langmeidong Higher Secondary School Principal U Kunjo, ANK English Academy Langmeidong Headmaster Yumnam Shantikumar attended the event as presidium members.

All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) president Bijoy Kakchingtabam, UPF advisor L Jadu also attended the event as resource persons.

The gathering discussed the changing socioeconomic and political atmosphere of the State since its merger into the Union of India.

The gathering also discussed the "controversial" Merger Agreement and Armed Forces Special Powers Act among others which are affecting the State and its people.
