Residents close Singjamei Keithel

Imphal, September 10 2020: As one resident near Singjamei Keithel reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, the Keithel (market) has been temporarily closed.

The market will be closed for a few days, however pharmacy/chemist shops will remain opened.

This step is being taken up as preventive measures to stop possible spread of the disease by residents of Chirom Leikai and YUDCO, said sources.

It may be noted that Unlock-4.0 is in place at present and all restriction outside containment zones have been removed.

However, as per guidelines of the State Government, there is curfew in place between 6 pm am 5 am daily.

With Unlock-4.0 all markets outside containment zones are open during daytime and there is traffic as usual without much social/physical distancing norm being followed by people in markets and other public places.

As COVID-19 cases surge, the death toll in the State has reached 44 .
